Frequently asked questions
Where do I find the app?
In the Canva editor, open Apps in the side panel and search for “Seamless Pattern”.
Why can’t I use “Set as page background”?
Some design types have no page background. Use Add to design instead, which adds the pattern as an image you can resize.
Why is “New variation” turned off for some patterns?
Some classic patterns, such as gingham or stripes, look the same in every variation. Try New colors or the pattern’s sliders instead.
Can I use the patterns in commercial work?
Yes, inside your designs. You may not sell or share the pattern images on their own. See the Terms and Conditions.
Do the apps use AI?
No. Every pattern is drawn with math formulas and every calendar is built from official dates, right in your browser.
Where do I find Kalender?
In the Canva editor, open Apps in the side panel and search for “Kalender”.
Why is a Hijri date one day off from my mosque’s calendar?
Kalender follows the Hijri calendar of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Some organisations follow their own calendar, and the start of Ramadan, Syawal and Zulhijah is only fixed by the official sighting (sidang isbat). Every date is editable text, so you can change it in Canva.
Which years can Kalender make?
2027 for now. A new year is added once the government publishes its holidays and collective leave, usually in September.
Why does “Add 12 pages” take a few seconds?
Kalender adds about one page per second so Canva doesn’t refuse the pages. Leave the panel open until it says it’s done.
Why can’t I add a calendar to a Doc or a whiteboard?
The calendar is laid out to fit a page, so it needs a design with a fixed page size, such as a poster, a presentation or a document for print.
What do the apps do with my data?
It does not collect any. See the Privacy Policy.
